Year after year it is the same thing. Retail workers complaining that they have to work a holiday. And year after year I continue to bite my tongue. First off, they should feel lucky they have a job. When applying to a job in the beginning you usually know the schedule of holidays. It is not a surprise! I have worked at a senior housing for 10 years. I have and will continue to work every holiday. I have missed many times watching my kids open presents, dinners, gatherings and family traditions. But yet, it’s the same thing, "Oh no, Walmart is open." I understand they are money hungry corporations, but it is not a surprise. You complain you work; yet I am sure your sister, mother or friend is probably first in line for that sale at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving night. I absolutely love my job and I will not complain of the hours or days I work. I am lucky to have a job. Be happy you have a job or quit and see what its like to not have a paycheck. Deal with it, its life! Unfortunately nothing in this world is free.
