I have many questions regarding the wind farm plan for Parishville and Hopkinton. In this time of Trump, why are the towns even considering a company from Spain? Surely there are American companies capable of planning a wind farm. Especially in Hopkinton, what is the opinion of the Adirondack Park Agency as the windmills will be clearly seen from the boundary lines of the park? Why aren’t the opponents of the wind farm using the method used in Hammond to turn down such a project? Who has the final say whether the wind towers will be approved? What about the payments in lieu of taxes (PILOTS)? Who decides? I have attended several meetings about wind farms and it seems each muddies the waters. Parishville Supervisor Rodney Votra changes his opinions as often as the sun rises. The voters deserve clear answers to these questions and more.
