On Monday, May 23 at about 3:30 p.m., I saw an older green pickup truck pulled over to the side of the bridge on Hewittville Road. I saw the male driver pull a cat carrier from the bed of the truck. He grabbed a cat and threw it into the brush along the river. The cat was an adult cat almost all white. There looked to be spot of black on the cat. I then witnessed a female from the truck grab another cat carrier and throw another cat or kittens out. They jumped into the truck and sped off. The next sad part is that this morning, Tuesday, May 24 on my way to work, the adult cat was sitting on a rock near the same place it was dropped off yesterday. It almost looked like it was waiting for someone. I just can’t believe people can be so cruel. If you didn’t want them why did you get them in the first place! If you needed to get rid of them, why not take them to the Potsdam animal shelter in the hopes they could find a loving home? I could not see the license plate number or I would have called and turned them in. I will be on the lookout for this truck. I have a very clear image of it in my head. Should I see it, I will turn you in.
