As a parent and someone who has lived here for quite a while I find it so crazy that there is nothing to do indoors in Canton except ice skate. I would like to see some grant money used to open a roller rink, it would be great. Also St. Lawrence University does not pay any taxes here, but if they did we could have a huge YMCA type center for our community. Even if they could help with buying and setting up a rink, there could be special college nights when they could skate free. We could do kids’ birthday parties with cupcakes or pizza. This could add tons of jobs and give kids, teens, and adults some place fun and warm to get together for exercise. And enjoy each other.
