As a resident of Potsdam and a parent, I find it very difficult to feel comfortable here knowing that there is a murderer wandering around at liberty. Why are the newspapers not demanding answers? Why has a murder been allowed to slip out of the public forum? Not everyone has forgotten Garrett Phillips. Not all of us want to walk through our community wondering who has gotten away with murder and why was nothing ever done? Hurting a child is heinous, murdering one is reprehensible. The person(s) responsible and anyone covering for them is truly inhuman. The more time that passes without the guilty party(ies) doing the right thing, the clearer it becomes that they are not capable of remorse. Every minute of their life and freedom since murdering Garrett is an offense to his memory, his family, and the entire community.
