In response to “Why Buy Local?” buying local is helpful in reducing our impact on the planet. Buying local reduces transportation costs on the environment. It benefits the local economy in season, to buy your foods at the farm stands. You are probably less likely to be ingesting the genetically engineered organisms and the latest pesticides that haven't been thoroughly tested for long term effects on humans. Monsanto (Agent Orange) doesn't care about you because you don't enter into the bottom-line equation!
