How can a young family who has purchased their first home in the village of Potsdam, just over a year ago, continue to live there when the taxes went up 105 percent? If something doesn’t change for these young families we are going to lose them. People talk about working to keep the young people from leaving the area but what are they supposed to do when they are being raped with the over the top taxes? The square footage of this home did not change, the amenities offered by the village has not changed or really improved but the taxes lay heavier and heavier on the village residents. It would be sad if these families have to move from this area because of over the top taxes. To have both parents working very hard to support their families and it’s still not good enough, doesn’t say much about the village and those who are running things.
