I just thought I’d explain what RSVP means, because after inviting 32 children from my son’s school to his fifth birthday party, only four parents replied and two children showed up, I figured maybe people don’t know what this means. RSVP = répondez, s’il vous plaît. That means please respond whether you’re coming or not. It was pretty heartbreaking to hear how my son anticipated that his classmates would come to his party but unfortunately most of the parents weren’t able to spend the minute it takes to write an e-mail or call on the phone. One of your children by the way, told my son that she wouldn’t be coming and that he’s not invited to her birthday party. Maybe she gets this behavior from you? I hope this doesn’t happen to your child. Just because you don’t know someone personally doesn’t mean you don’t owe them some common courtesy.
