Have we Americans lost our capacity for uniting to help each other? Has the idea of looking out for those members of our society who are less fortunate been forgotten? There was a time when all Americans worked together for the survival of our nation. The people of this country can accomplish any task when we are united in a common goal. The media claims that this country has 23 million children that do not have enough to eat each day. How can this be happing in the United States, the greatest food producer in history? Our elected officials should be able to solve this shortage of food and enable all our children to be well fed. Where is the cooperation and concern for the well being of our youngsters? America can accomplish any challenge when it comes to winning wars and going to the moon, however we seem unable to feed all the children in this great country adequately, in the richest country in the world. What has happened to our country and its fabled generosity? Shame!
