In response to “Turbines South of SH 72 Will Impact Watershed,” which appeared in the Feb. 14-20 issue of North Country This Week: The author states that wind towers will poison the watershed because the wells are mostly dug or not deep and many in Hopkinton are on fixed incomes. This argument is so weak and flawed even someone with an 8th grade education can debate this. Riddle me this: If the rods will poison the water wells how come after all these years all those farms in Parishville and Hopkinton area that have been spreading cow dung on those fields all those years it hasn’t run off and leeched and polluted your shallow dug wells? I’ve driven down Rt. 72 when they spread it stinks. Your argument has no merit, embrace change!
