Hey travelers. Are you planning to take a scenic drive through the western Adirondacks as you motor along Route 3 East? Just before you leave Lewis County, in the small community of Harrisville, be prepared to get nailed for speeding in a 30 mph zone, which should easily be a 40 mph zone. Harrisville has become popular as a speed trap, so I suggest you spend your dollars elsewhere as a protest to this nonsense. When the trooper presents you with your ticket, ask why he or she is not enforcing New York State Law, which makes driving golf carts on or across state highways illegal. It’s a common occurrence in Star Lake and nobody is ticketed for this infraction.
