With resources as tight as they are in our local fire and rescue departments, why would our fire department chiefs authorize taking emergency vehicles and equipment out of the area they are supposed to be protecting to “run lights and sirens” at a county legislators’ meeting in Canton last night? Seems like we should ask them what they plan to do with our tax dollars and donations the next time they ask for our help. This is not acceptable and very foolish to think it would reverse an employment decision. Since it didn’t change anything, this was all a waste of the taxpayer’s dollars, community donations and a gross misuse of red lights and sirens! When we see red lights and hear sirens in the future, will it be an actual emergency, a fire, a parade, or another attempt to reverse an employment decision?
