In response to the Sound Off “Get Out and Vote” which appeared in the Aug. 9-15 issue of North Country This Week: Please be aware that there is some misleading information contained in this. It was stated that if you are a seasonal at Lake Ozonia and are there for 30 days or more, you can do an absentee vote. This is incorrect information. Seasonal residents would need to establish residency in the town in order to vote or even obtain an absentee ballot. It should be noted that by changing your residency, you would lose your STAR exemption on your current primary residence. If you do this and the change back to your primary residence, this would be considered as voter fraud. Contact the Board of Elections and get the facts before any changes are made.
