Once again the trustees of the Village of Potsdam have proven that they don’t care about the priorities of taxpayers and have voted to fund the recreation program. It really is time to vote the Village of Potsdam out of existence. The “quaint Victorian village” should cease to be. Unfortunately, so many voters live in non-profit, tax subsidized apartments and do not pay taxes, but reap rewards and benefit from unnecessary services. Therefore a vote to dissolve the village probably can’t succeed. Maybe, the only way to change things is to elect new village trustees who have vision like Hopke.
