With all the discussion about dissolution and the possibility of a vote to make that decision, why aren’t our village leaders taking any steps to salvage the village government structure? There are a few things that they (mayor and trustees) could be doing to reduce costs to taxpayers, right now. For example, they could have decided to remove their free medical coverage for starters. Dissolution may not be the right answer in the end, but where is our approach to fiscal responsibility as a solution to the complaints of high taxes? Maybe changing the leadership of the village is the answer, not dissolution? We need leaders that can make decisions acting in the best interest of the village taxpayers. If you cannot do that, resign and step aside for some new faces. Let’s get some budget cuts on the table then, if dissolution is not the answer.
