In response to the Sound Off “Thank Our Veterans’ in the Nov.12 -18 issue; people should remember that Veterans Day is a day of celebration. As a veteran, we remember our brothers and sisters every day, not just on Veterans Day. We remember those who came home from combat to their families, and as well, we remember those who did not. We honor those memories as a lasting tribute to every veteran past and present, living and deceased. Yes my friend, Veterans Day is a day of celebration. A day for those who have served to honor, remember, and reflect upon our contributions to this great nation. And maybe, together, we can pass our core values of " honor, courage and commitment " on to our younger generation so the spirit never dies. I believe every man and woman who have served this country deserves a thank you for your service as well as a warm happy Veterans Day. You would be amazed how far a simple gesture will go.
