I'm concerned in regards to the June 22-28 North Country This Week article “40-turbine Wind Farm Project Moving Forward.” Who are the recipients of this wind power? Does any of it stay in the town and benefit those who provide the area for it to originate? Does it all travel to other areas for the convenience of folks who do not have to listen to the noise of the turbines, watch birds destroyed by the blades, affecting fly ways of the Canada goose, or wait for the day one of the blades flies off and crashes into a passing school bus? Along with flashing lights 24/7 at the top, needed due to two local airports. How efficient are these wind turbines? Is this a government incentive program that's hot now but is not truly an efficient use of supplying wind power? My concerns are for the safety, health and welfare of Hopkinton, which will be changed forever if they are constructed.
