People should be very concerned if Avangrid and a few leaseholders in Parishville and Hopkinton get their way because 40 of the 500-foot tall industrial wind turbines will only be the beginning. Will it be 80? Or maybe 160 turbines? The latest models reach 700-feet into the sky -- where will the next project be? In your town? In sight and sound of your home and children? The only thing that will be cut by 50 percent is the value of your non-participating property, if it sells at all. Call upon your county legislators to deny any PILOT. Let the Hopkinton Town Board know that they should deny turbines south of State Route 72 in order to protect state lands and limit how close turbines would be to the Adirondack Park.
