In response to “Music Program a Luxury” (Sound Off, March 30-April 5) it may be a luxury but it involves the kids 100 percent. Why don’t we look at cutting the Dean of Students/Athletic Director who takes up just over $70,000 per year salary/benefits? These two part-time positions held by one person, are not mandated by NYS. Yeah, in a fat and happy world having this luxury is nice, but in tough economic times, and two positions that do not immediately interact with the students, these and any administrative positions are the ones to cut instead of positions that directly effect our students.
