As a newcomer to Potsdam, honestly I can’t for the life of me understand who actually agrees with the trash system in the village. I’ve lived in various places and never experienced trash disposal so inconvenient and complicated as the one devised here. I have to make a special trip to buy bags at an exorbitant price. The bags are designed in a way that I would never purchase given other options. And then if I have an accident with a child or pet to clean up, or pet waste, I have to have this disgusting mess bag sit around in the heat while I wait for my trash bag to fill up so that I don’t waste my money on a half-filled bag. I totally believe that people should be accountable for the waste they put out, but this system is just a pain for everyone and stupid. If someone out there actually agrees with this system, I welcome you to please explain why.
