I understand there is a drug problem in Massena and appreciate efforts by police to control it. The down side to increased traffic stops is the general public does not necessarily know where drug activity is heavy. Massena businesses struggle as it is and do not need people avoiding the village. Most people have nothing to hide, but no one wants to deal with the inconvenience of being detained if they can help it. I support the police 100 percent. I'm just not sure if increased traffic stops is the best tactic in this unfortunate fight that has to be waged against such a sad situation.
