It sad to see that members of the Potsdam School Board and the community are willing to throw the Dean of Students/Athletic Director under the bus as a result of the budget crisis. I think people are misinformed about the positions. They are listed as two half time positions but they are both full time. The current Dean/Athletic Director is there before schools open in the morning and many nights does not leave until after the last practice or game is played, not to mention Saturdays. He definitely earns his salary and he does not belong to either union, teachers or administrators. As far as that million-dollar facility everyone talks about, he administers that whether it is for the district or is being used for tournaments or sectional events. In short, the district is getting two full time employees for the price of one.
