To (“Still Waiting for Call, Sound Off Dec. 28-Jan. 3”): First you did not state that you were disabled in your first letter and I still don’t find that as an excuse to call 911. Couldn’t you have picked up a phone book and called the local authorities yourself? Or maybe called the Potsdam Animal Shelter to take care of it. As for the people who approach animals they don’t know, I think sometimes it is appropriate to do so (although I realize why you didn’t). I would rather be bitten than live with the fact that I left that dog on the street. I also had one final question for you. If it had been a Lab or a Collie would you have done the same thing? I am sure I know what you will say and I honestly don’t think it will be the truth. I Know pitbulls have a bad rap but that doesn’t mean that they can’t be just as nice as the next dog.
