It’s a terrible feeling when you wake up and discover that while you were sleeping someone was on your property stealing from you. We live on Route 345 in Madrid just up the road from the school and this morning (12/21/2010) found that the entire wheel assembly was taken off from our brand new wood splitter (the splitter itself was chained up so that is still there), a full gas can, bar & chain oil, pulp hooks and other items from our wood shed. We reported it to the State Troopers but if anyone has any information on this incident please call the authorities. It really puts a damper on the holidays to know that there are such scumbags out there that are ruining the safe feeling we used to have in the North Country. We will be installing surveillance cameras and never thought we would have to do this.
