In response to “Carp Shoot Not Much of a Sport” (Sound Off, online only, June 22): Dear anonymous carp kisser, The Long Sault Archery Club has been holding their annual shoot for 31 years and it is not just a New York sport--it is a national sport. You sound like the selfish child who doesn't want to play the game so therefore no one should play. The catch and release fishermen are doing nothing to control an invasive species; by releasing your catch you are in essence putting a non-native species into the St. Lawrence fishery, which is illegal. You should all be charged by the DEC. There are enough carp in this fishery that we should both be allowed to enjoy our sport. I don't condemn you for catchin' and kissin' your fish, so don't condemn me for stickin' and pittin' mine.
