In response to “Stay Home With Your Kids,” I’m not a parent, but I find your attitude that stay at home parents are automatically better than working parents condescending. Even ignoring the fact that people who have degrees and careers that they have spent years or decades working toward shouldn’t have to give all of that up, I find it puzzling that you so readily discount the benefits to a child from having working parents. What about the benefit of learning work ethic and responsibility from your parents? While you scoff at the extra cars and toys, what about the health insurance or college education that extra job might buy for that child? While you thank the stay at home moms, I thank the moms that teach their kids that they can become anything they want – in or outside the home - and who work to make sure their kids have the chance to achieve it.
