With Veterans Day taking place this week, and I just wanted to remind people that saying “Happy Veterans Day” may not be the proper thing to say to a veteran. Veterans Day is not a day of celebration, there are no beer-bbq’s, no parties. For a lot of veterans, this day is not a happy day, but it is a day of remembrance, and reflection, thankfulness and sadness that we made it home when others did not. If you want to recognize a veteran you know, a simple “thank you” will go farther than you can imagine.
