Maybe it is time St. Lawrence and Clarkson stepped up to help our local schools before Governor Cuomo destroys them. They do not pay taxes on the majority of their property which puts a great burden on the rest of the members of the community. The colleges are very much going to be effected if this merger goes though because the town that doesn’t end up getting the school is going to slowly die as people will move to be closer to the school and new people moving into the area will choose the town with the school. Both schools make millions of dollars a year. I’m sure next week the colleges will have their highly educated staff write a rebuttal about how much they give to the communities but just remember the local businesses also do a lot for the community which includes paying taxes.
