I don’t like the fact that I have to write this opinion but I can’t hold back any longer. When the “artistic expression” first showed up on Market Street a couple of years ago, my 4-year-old asked, “why does that house look funny?” She was referring to the colorful garage and toilets in the yard. I told her, “that is what the owner wanted it to look like.” Upon further questions I had to explain to her that the owner of the house did not get his way and was throwing a tantrum. I explained it in words that she could understand, and words that I feel are true. I have seen how much time and effort has gone into painting the garage and yard work. My question is why does the owner not paint some of the other houses he owns in Potsdam. He has many other properties and this one seems to be his favorite. Every time I drive by the two houses he owns on Maple Street across from Clarkson, they are screaming for paint. Could you send a few gallons of paint to them? I have seen new paint on that garage almost every year. Enough is enough. All tantrums must come to an end. Thank you.
