Here is a perspective on wind towers that most can understand: The Statue of Liberty is 305 feet tall from its base to the torch. Add 195 feet and you understand the enormous height of a 500-foot wind tower, then add the tremendous blades spinning and spinning and you have an idea what monsters these things will be if allowed in Parishville and Hopkinton. There are many places they could be placed that would lessen their sight impact – off shore on the Great Lakes – along the United States shorelines in the ocean where some have already been placed successfully. And as to their placement in the Parishville area; why couldn't they be placed near the hydro dams, near the penstocks where there are already power lines to connect to?
