In response to “Mush Brain” which appeared in the Oct. 4-10 issue of North Country This Week: CTE is a real thing! Unfortunately little is really known about CTE, but any young athlete who is involved in any contact sport is at risk for head injuries. Any coach who promotes roughness should be banned from coaching. It is up to us as parents to keep on top of their kids coaches and how they are teaching our kids. Football can be a great game. Let's keep everyone safe. CTE is memory loss, chronic headaches, confusion and personality changes, to name a few. It is awful and nothing to take lightly.
