In response to the recent NorthCountryNow.com survey about smoking in apartment complexes: quite frankly some of you people have a lot of nerve! So many of you spoke about residents being on welfare that I was shocked. Number one the residents here are older retired people, handicapped people, and working people. How dare you assume we are all on welfare and even if we were would it still give you a right to talk as if we have no rights? Some people on welfare may live in subsidized housing and get some help but that doesn't give you the right to criticize them. We all have rights and it is about time the county, state and federal government quit telling us what we can do. If people live here in what is supposed to be their home then leave them alone and let them smoke. It is their home! I am appalled at the number of people that made cracks about everyone being on welfare and the sarcasm about their right to smoke. I think some of our fellow citizens think that they are better then others because they make more money. I work my 40 hours a week and have been working at the same job for thirty years. My check is not great but I work hard for every penny so please keep your sarcasm to yourself.
