To all the Sound Offs condemning the police in the Shawn Ladue case (“Chases Don’t Work,” June 29 – July 5): Are you kidding me? There was one person that could have ended this “high speed chase,” and that was Mr. Ladue himself. If he had just pulled over for the police in the first place, then he would still be alive today. And just where were the police supposed to get him “the next day” after abandoning their pursuit? At his home? Would this not give any person a chance to either flee the area, or worse yet, arm themselves? Please people, let’s think of all the sides of a story before we speak on any subject.
