Shopping local is crucial for the North Country to survive. The more people shop at big corporations, the smaller our towns will get and competitive pricing will be no more! There are national chain stores in nearly every town. Once they have taken all our local businesses, their prices shoot through the roof and there’s no other place to go. Big corporations might have local locations and promote being local, but they are not really local. If we keep throwing money at these big corporations, all our local and family owned stores will be bought up or put out of business and there will be eventually nothing left. Then these big corporations can raise their prices as they see fit because there will be no competition and people will be forced to spend big bucks when they don’t need to. Don’t fall for the hype of big corporations, they place a nice message but they’re killing little towns slowly but surely.
