I was one of the faithful listeners for the past 20 years, ever since I moved here. I wore a headphone radio starting at 6 every morning. I can’t tell you how many radios and batteries I wore out! It started with listening to Dave Cady and his “It’s daylight in the swamp” and never moved the dial. Up until the recent sale of the station, I could call if I missed the weather and get a quick update or travel conditions on Route 11 or to request a song or say “great job you’re doing.” I called in numerous birthdays and even accidents once in a while so listeners would be advised. I enjoyed the joking around and Andy’s wit and Scott’s Saturday oldies, NASCAR USA and races. Now my radio is silent. I didn’t like ‘80s music in the ‘80s and it’s no different now. I am so upset over this – it was how I stayed informed. Now I’m suffering from 99-Hits withdrawal.
