In response to “Making Ends Meet,” I agree with the writer who asked that people not be put down for accepting handouts. Instead of hurting people because they are on welfare, or in jail, or are not living the life that we apparently all are born into (not - sarcasm), maybe we should start talking to our neighbors and helping out in the community so maybe that mom who works three jobs doesn’t have to - maybe we can find the one job for her that will pay a living wage. Maybe the next time we see the kid down the street poking sticks at a neighbor’s cat we’ll take the time to stop and make him stop and let him know what he is doing is wrong. Perhaps then he won’t end up abusing his future girlfriend or children. I know it sounds simple but for heaven’s sake - put down your iPhone and make a difference. Stop putting people down because they can’t do better right now. Remember, it could’ve been you. It still could be the future you. What would you want someone to do for you?
