Some of you who are reading this will be astonished. Our dear Kirsten Gillibrand [www.kirstengillibrand.com/issues/immigration] is a co-sponsor of an act that allows illegal immigrants to be eligible for state and city funded financial aid programs, amongst other perks, which includes grants, loans and scholarships available within the state of New York. So let me get this straight Ms. Gillibrand, you want me to keep paying the astronomical taxes of NYS and support you with my vote so that my average child who is here legally, as is/was his parents, grandparents, great grandparents, has to compete with illegal immigrants to get financial aid, paid for partly through my hard earned taxes, to go to college? Not only is my child competing for low interest loans, the potential exists that my average legal child could be denied a scholarship or grant, ‘free college money’ because the grant went to an illegal immigrant? I beg everyone to write your representative and tell them stop the NYS Dream Act.
