I travel for my job across the state. Nationally, gas prices are about $3.79 a gallon. Locally we traditionally pay about 10 to 12 more a gallon. I do not understand how gas in Massena, Gouverneur, Ogdensburg and even Star Lake is between $3.85 and $3.95 a gallon yet it is still over $4 in Canton and Potsdam. I would like all of the gas stations in these communities investigated by the Ag’s office. Someone is getting rich while I struggle to pay my bills and afford to travel to work. If the answer is supply and demand doesn’t it stand to reason that demand in these two large communities would be more than in other less populated areas (certainly Star Lake). This is ridiculous and we locals need to have a stop put to this madness.
