In response to the Nov. 1-7 North Country This Week front page article “PCS Planning for Later Start to School Day: As a parent I find changing the start times ridiculous. When I was growing up we went to school that early and we turned out just fine. We never were late for school because we were too tired because we went to bed at a decent hour, we never got poor grades because we were too tired because like I said we went to bed at a decent hour. Starting early is training them for the real world, when they get to be adults they should be in a routine of early bed and early rise. Kids are too spoiled these days they need to go to bed early get up early, work hard and choose their priorities according to what is most important. So parents, set bedtimes and let's stop coddling our kids.
