In response to “Control of Smokers” which ran in the Nov. 6-12 issue of North Country This Week: Smoking in a space that allows that smoke to drift into the airspace of a nonsmoker is not your right...war veteran or not. I totally respect our vets but this is not a case against vets. If I make a decision not to smoke, not one has the right to force it on me. So you want to smoke in your subsidized apartment...you think your smoke does not infringe on the air space next door? Think again. Maybe the answer is either to buy your own home or perhaps the government should subsidize special apartments for smokers where you can all share your smoke. I want clean air. That is my right and the right of everyone. No one is taking away your right to smoke, us self righteous non-smokers just don’t want to breath your smoky, stinky air. Find a space to smoke where only smokers breath.
