I feel bad about anyone losing their job and it’s tough to be thinking about losing a part of the St, Lawrence County. Sheriff’s Department especially with the way things are here in the North Country, but it is even harder to watch good people struggle to keep their homes and seeing a large percentage that can’t pay all their taxes and don’t have any relief in sight for themselves. I know we can’t expect the deputies to work for free but something needs to be done. Just where is the money going to come from to pay them and the other county workers? We the taxpayers have no more to give, especially after the way the school taxes went up. The county has to realize that you can’t get blood from a stone and us taxpayers are spent out. For a lot of us we are making choices now between eating or heating our homes or paying our taxes let alone any thing else we might need or want, It’s easy to see just look around any of our neighborhoods here in the county guaranteed to see some of your own neighbors struggling.
