St. Lawrence County school districts should be run like businesses

The schools and school boards are once again planting the seed that there is a budget shortfall for next year. What comes next? We’ll raise taxes. It is really time for the school board and administration to wake and realize that the school needs to be run like a business. Raises to teachers should be earned not guaranteed annually. If the teachers want family health care coverage, they should pay the additional monthly premiums for family coverage like everyone else. Turn the busses off and have the drivers watch the games they are getting paid to be at instead of letting them idle. Why can’t one superintendent cover more than one school? Our school board and those in power make this seem like rocket science.
