What happened to good sportsmanship? Apparently gone with many other respectable virtues once held. Reference is made to a recent high school hockey game where a young OFA player was seriously injured resulting in a serious cervical neck fracture requiring surgery. The punishment for the infraction…a 7-minute penalty! Is this the direction coaching is taking for our youth? Serious obligations to both coaching staff and school administration should be applied to set a preventive example. High School hockey is not the NHL.
