I live in public housing. They are implementing a no smoking in your apartments rule. We were never notified of this until they had made up their minds to take away our rights to do as we please in the apartments that we pay rent for. According to the powers that be this is being implemented by HUD however that is a lie. HUD is not implementing this at all! I know because I have spoken to the HUD reps. I realize that many people disapprove of smoking but when you pay rent to live somewhere and it has always been allowed to smoke in your apartment it is very much unfair to all of the sudden say you can no longer do that! I work my butt off and have to live somewhere. Please leave the smokers alone and quit treating us like second-class citizens.
