I feel compelled to sound off about the gas prices here in Potsdam. What is going on here? Does anyone have an answer to the outrageous prices that are going on here? I just received a text from son who is traveling through Syracuse and stopped for gas. He paid $1.85 per gallon. The price here is $2.26. What is wrong with this picture? Complaining to a newspaper isn't doing us any good people. St. Lawrence County is the biggest county in this state and it's the poorest…so why is it so expensive to live here? Food prices, gas prices, taxes are driving people to leave here and I am seriously thinking of doing the same. My husband and I moved here 27 years ago to give our children a better life. Three of our four children moved away in order to find better jobs. How sad. I guess it's my turn to go now.
