Former DA Nicole Duve was a skilled prosecutor. She knew that there was not enough evidence to hope for a conviction in the Garrett Phillip’s murder case. If she had even a glimmer of success, you can bet she would have gone ahead full throttle. She was also savvy enough to know that a perpetrator sometimes incriminates himself/herself in some way when he/she thinks the coast is clear. I would bet Duve was on constant alert for that occurrence. It is unfortunate that St. Lawrence County lost an able prosecutor and administrator because of this one case and ended up.
