I am just voicing an opinion that I think most town taxpayers are thinking. When the vote on this issue comes in November, I know many village taxpayers will be thinking about the savings they might realize. We in the town however are thinking of how many elderly and people on a fixed income may have to sell their homes if the taxes outside of the village rise as speculated. We do not need sidewalks plowed because we have none, we don’t get village water and sewer and don’t want it, brush pickup isn’t needed, we take care of our own, and as far as us using things in the village, we already pay for using most of them. The one thing we do need to emphasize is that the town and village need to work together and for that to happen there has to be changes made. The shortsightedness of the present board especially makes me think we still are living in the past.
