I have an older friend who really does not want to go into senior housing but has to move somewhere. The problem is that the places she can afford, will not allow her poodle to live there, and the places she can not afford will allow her pet. Most apartments and places to live in the North Country do not want older adults. They only want to rent to college students. The only places she can afford are not places she would want to live in…I wouldn’t even let a dog live there. The places were dirty with mold and mildew so bad that I could not breathe. We say we take care of our seniors. Yeah, if we can hide them away so we don’t see them.
