In response to "Good Deal for Smokers" which ran in the Sept. 2-8 issue of North Country This Week: What is the matter with you? Most of the people in the housing have worked all of their life and paid taxes. They are senior citizens that worked for minimum wage, etc. and only receive Social Security, which everyone is entitled to. They do not go out partying every weekend and most of them have no family. They have a right to spend some of their money on something that pleases them. God knows the people didn’t help them out when they were struggling to feed their kids on minimum wage. Smoking is an addiction. I am thoroughly disgusted with all the people who want to look down on the elderly.
