In reference to the article “Potsdam Man Charged After Triggering ‘Lockout’ at Lawrence Avenue Following Comment About ‘Why Schools Get Shot Up,’” the incident at Lawrence Avenue School sounds a bit overblown to me. Everybody gets upsets and sounds off once in a while. And while we, or the school in this case, should be leery of the individual’s agitated state, it seems a bit much that he was charged for what seems to me to be nothing more than expressing his right of free speech.
